LAGOS (CONVERSEER) – A member of the North West Development Commission (NWDC), Aminu Suleiman, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has recorded more achievements in just two years than former President Muhammadu Buhari did in his eight years in office.
Suleiman made the remark on Sunday in Lagos after paying Sallah homage to President Tinubu at his Ikoyi residence. He noted that Tinubu, who assumed office in May 2023, has laid a solid foundation for Nigeria’s development and is on track to transform the country.
“Tinubu’s two years are even better than the past government’s eight years. Given the full privilege of a four-year term, I am confident he will transform Nigeria,” Suleiman said.
He highlighted the inclusion of the North West region in national development planning as a significant achievement under Tinubu’s administration, expressing optimism that the region, with its estimated population of 19 million, would benefit greatly.
“We are the most populous zone in the North, nearly 19 million people strong. The inclusion of the region in national development planning is a welcome development, and Insha Allah, we will ensure everything goes well,” he added.
Suleiman commended the president for establishing the North West Development Commission and four other regional commissions within his first two years in office.
The newly created commissions include the North Central Development Commission (NCDC), South East Development Commission (SEDC), South West Development Commission (SWDC), and South South Development Commission (SSDC). These supplement the North East Development Commission (NEDC), which was established during the Buhari administration.
The NWDC board member praised Tinubu’s record as a visionary leader, drawing parallels between the president’s transformation of Lagos State as governor and his ongoing efforts at the federal level.
“Tinubu did it in Lagos. With God’s help, he will do it across Nigeria. Nigerians must trust his leadership and vision,” Suleiman stated.
He further expressed confidence that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria would experience stronger growth and development in the coming years.
