President Bola Tinubu has left Nigeria for France for a medical trip – SaharaReporters reports.

He left Abuja on Wednesday (24 Jan. 2024) to France.

Meanwhile, a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, described the trip as a “private visit.”

“President Bola Tinubu departs Abuja for Paris, France, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, for a private visit.

“He will return to the country in the first week of February 2024,” Ngelale’s statement read.

But, a source from the Presidency told SaharaReporters that, “It is a medical leave because the so-called private visit is for the President to see his doctors in France.”

It was reported that the President has severally before and after his election embarked on several medical trips.

The other was weeks before his inauguration on the 29th of May 2023.

“He is returning to France to see his doctors ahead of the stress of the inauguration period so he can prepare for his swearing-in,” a top source in the ruling All Progressives Congress had told the newspaper.
