Top Stocks to Monitor This Week: Livestock Feeds, Caverton, FTN Cocoa, and Royalex

Investors at the Nigerian equities market lost N365 billion at the close of trading last week.

The equities market recorded gains in two of the five trading days, culminating in the crash of the market capitalization to N66.3 trillion from N66.717 trillion recorded the previous week.

Similarly, the All-Share Index (ASI) depreciated by 0.55% to close the week at 105. 955.13 points from the 106,538.60 points recorded the previous week.

Amid the poor showing of the market, stocks like Livestock Feeds (LIVESTOCK); Caverton Offshore Support Group (CAVERTON); FTN Cocoa Processors (FTNCOCOA) and Royal Exchange (ROYALEX) performed creditably well to position themselves as stocks to watch in the new week.

ROYALEX • 0.88 ▴ 0.08 (10%)

The current share price of Royal Exchange (ROYALEX) is NGN 0.88. ROYALEX closed its last trading day (Friday, March 14, 2025) at 0.88 NGN per share on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), recording a 10% gain over its previous closing price of 0.80 NGN. Royal Exchange began the year with a share price of 1.00 NGN but has since lost 12% off that price valuation, ranking it 134th on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance. Shareholders’ worries are compounded by the fact that ROYALEX has lost 11% of the stock’s value from February 14th to date.

Royal Exchange is the 20th most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange over the past three months (Dec 13, 2024 – Mar 14, 2025). ROYALEX has traded a total volume of 582 million shares—in 4,798 deals—valued at NGN 612 million over the period, with an average of 9.24 million traded shares per session. A volume high of 291 million was achieved on January 2nd, and a low of 35,749 on March 7th, for the same period.

LIVESTOCK • 10.20

The current share price of Livestock Feeds (LIVESTOCK) is NGN 10.20. LIVESTOCK closed its last trading day (Friday, March 14, 2025) at 10.20 NGN per share on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX). Livestock Feeds began the year with a share price of 4.12 NGN and has since gained 148% on that price valuation, ranking it first on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance. Shareholders can be optimistic about LIVESTOCK knowing the stock has accrued an outstanding 70% over the past four-week period alone—best on NGX.

Livestock Feeds is the 30th most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange over the past three months (Dec 13, 2024 – Mar 14, 2025). FTN Cocoa Processors began the year with a share price of 1.82 NGN and has since gained 1.65% on that price valuation, ranking it 79th on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance. Shareholders can be optimistic about FTNCOCOA knowing the stock has accrued 7% over the past four-week period—14th best on NGX.

FTN Cocoa Processors is the 45th most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange over the past three months (Dec 13, 2024 – Mar 14, 2025). FTNCOCOA has traded a total volume of 190 million shares—in 4,551 deals—valued at NGN 350 million over the period, with an average of 3.01 million traded shares per session. A volume high of 16.5 million was achieved on January 3rd, and a low of 379,033 on March 7th, for the same period.

CAVERTON • 3.00 ▴ 0.05 (1.69%)

The current share price of Caverton Offshore Support Group (CAVERTON) is NGN 3.00. CAVERTON closed its last trading day (Friday, March 14, 2025) at 3.00 NGN per share on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NGX), recording a 1.7% gain over its previous closing price of 2.95 NGN. Caverton Offshore Support began the year with a share price of 2.32 NGN and has since gained 29.3% on that price valuation, ranking it 25th on the NGX in terms of year-to-date performance. Shareholders can be optimistic about CAVERTON knowing the stock has accrued 24% over the past four-week period alone—sixth best on NGX.

Caverton Offshore Support Group is the 43rd most traded stock on the Nigerian Stock Exchange over the past three months (Dec 13, 2024 – Mar 14, 2025). CAVERTON has traded a total volume of 195 million shares—in 4,553 deals—valued at NGN 486 million over the period, with an average of 3.1 million traded shares per session. A volume high of 20.9 million was achieved on February 27th, and a low of 246,488 on December 27th, for the same period.
