The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Prof. Florence Obi, has announced the promotion of four Academic Staff to the Professorial Cadre.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Linkages and Collaboration, Prof. Peter Okafor, who presided over the Special Senate Session of the University of Calabar on behalf of the Vice Chancellor disclosed that one Professor and three Associate Professors profited from the exercise.
They include Dr Macaulay Ittah of Crop Science (Professor), Dr Obal Usang of Accounting (Ass. Prof.), Dr Oluyemi Akintoye of EPM (Ass. Prof.) and Dr Joseph Ebegbulem of Pol Sc (Ass. Prof.).
The Acting Vice Chancellor also intimated members of the Senate of some Council’s decisions, disclosing that the Council of the University has insisted on the use of ID Cards by both Staff and Students while on Campus.

He said the essence of the exercise is to help the institution detect visitors and fish out miscreants.
Prof. Okafor further informed that tallies will soon be deployed for use by drivers who are residing on campus and those navigating through the university grounds.
He reminded members of the Senate of the existing rule that results should be uploaded two weeks after examinations
