Veteran Nigerian singer/songwriter and actress, Onyeka Onwenu, has passed on at 72.
Onwenu who was also a human rights and social activist, journalist, politician, and former X Factor series judge, slumped and died after performing at a party in Lagos on Tuesday night, 30 July 2024.
According to TheNiche, Onwenu was performing at the birthday party of Mrs Stella Okoli, when she slumped.

She was then rushed to the Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island where she was confirmed dead.

However, her family has yet to release a comment at the time of filing this report.
Dubbed the “Elegant Stallion” by the press, Onwenu was also a former chairperson of the Imo State Council for Arts and Culture.
