Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State says the Supreme Court’s affirmation of President Bola Tinubu’s election, today, has enlivened the masses’ belief in the judiciary as the last bastion of hope for the Nigerians.
Otu who was reacting to the judgement of the apex court, sitting in Abuja, which brought an end to the legal challenge by Tinubu’s two main rivals (Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi), said: “Let me thank the supreme court for being the last bastion of hope of the common Nigerian. They made it clear that there were no sentiments in the judgement. They looked at the facts before the court and gave judgement accordingly.”
The governor also expressed optimism that with all encumbrances from litigants brought to an end, Nigerians are now going to witness a change of direction and focus under the able leadership of President Bola Tinubu.
“Let me wish Mr President the strength that comes from God, the wisdom and knowledge to carry on with the all-important task of returning Nigeria to her pride of place as the ‘Giant of Africa.’
“Times are very tough now, but it is global. I know that President Tinubu is going to conquer the complex situation we find ourselves in today. I wish him the very best,” Otu remarked.
