Times Higher Education (THE), in its recent report of 21st July 2024, has ranked the University of Cross River State (UNICROSS) top of the list of best African Universities.
In a survey conducted by the global non-governmental ranking outfit, to ascertain African Universities with the “best teaching skills index,” UNICROSS emerged topmost (first), out of the ten best African Universities listed by THE, according to the Business Insider Africa media.
The survey which was meant to assess the impact of University Education on job market demands in Africa was based on THE’s assertion that “several African countries via its top universities in Sub-Sahara rankings, boast the finest teaching skills in higher institutions” and that “effective teaching” and “providing students with information and skills that apply to real-life situations” could bridge “the sizeable skills gap which sometimes exists, since the demands of the job market are not always met by the educational system.”
