Vivek Ramaswamy has blasted the United States federal government for creating programmes that encourage women to be single mothers.

He also advocated for the nuclear family.

The comments came as Ramaswamy and Charlie Kirk spoke with Pitt students.

“You have a lot of single mothers that are paid more money not to have a man in the house than to have a man in the house because of the way the math of these aid programmes work.”

“If you have an earning husband in the household, that actually causes you to disqualify for forms of federal aid.”

“The best way to get kids in your own household ahead is in a two-parent household. Because if you’re raised in a two-parent household, you’re less likely to end up in jail, less likely to end up in poverty, more likely to graduate from high school.”

NEW: Vivek Ramaswamy blasts the federal government for creating programs that *encourage* women to be single mothers, advocates for the nuclear family.
