“It’s Harming Business”, Says Apple As It Files Suit Against Apple Watch Sales Ban

By James Ovie

Apple has filed an “urgent motion” to appeal against the ban on the sale of Apple Watch Series 9 series and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the United States and requested that the ban be put on hold during the appeal.

It was reported earlier that the White House refused to overturn the Apple Watch ban after review.

Apple has appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals, claiming: “If the ban continues to be implemented, Apple will suffer irreparable harm.”

The U.S. International Trade Commission, ITC stated that it would take at least 2 weeks to respond to Apple’s appeal, so Apple submitted an “emergency motion to immediately suspend the ban”, hoping to suspend the ban during this period and continue to sell these Apple Watch products.

“Importantly, U.S. Customs and Border Protection plans to re-evaluate Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 watches on January 12, 2024, which are not covered by the ITC ban.

:At a minimum, the court should grant a stay long enough for Customs to make this decision,” Apple said in the motion document.
