Nigerians expected President Bola Tinubu to be at the stadium in Ivory Coast watching the Super Eagles but it was Peter Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate who was spotted at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.
Obi’s presence at the stadium has sparked reactions among Nigerians on social media, calling the Labour Party presidential candidate a “true leader.”
Nigeria beat Angola 1-0 to advance to the semifinals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON – all thanks to Ademola Lookman’s goal assisted by Moses Simon in the 41st minute.
CONVERSEER further reports that the last time Obi was in a stadium to watch the Super Eagles play was in 2023.
That year, Nigeria won the AFCON.
