Cross River Lawmaker emerges politician of the year

By Solomon Ogar

The Lawmaker representing Yala 1 State Constituency, Hon. Brian Odey has been nominated for Yala Achievers Awards as Politician of the Year.

This follows his resilience, acumen and tenacity, which eventually saw his smart political alliance with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC taking a seat in the State Assembly as Member representing Yala I State Constituency, in the March 18, 2023 Governorship and State Assembly Election and the election petition tribunals in today’s intricate tapestry of Nigerian politics where oppositions are underdogs.

A breakdown of the nominees so far showed that Odey is the only member of the Cross River House of Assembly nominated for the Award holding at Transcorp Hotel, Calabar on 28 July 2024.
