Ramadan: C’River NDDC Rep reassures Muslims of inclusiveness

Rt. Hon. Chief Orok Duke, Representative of Cross River State at the Niger Delta Development Board, NDDC has reassured the Muslim community in the state of his continued commitment to promoting inclusivity, understanding and cooperation.

Duke stated this in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday in Calabar, acknowledging the significance of Ramadan fasting, prayer, and reflection.

The NDDC Rep in a heartfelt Ramadan Kareem message, said, “Ramadan is a time of spiritual growth, compassion, and unity, where individuals come together to deepen their connection with Allah and express solidarity with those less fortunate.”

Adding, “I remain dedicated to working together for the development and progress of the state.”

The former Deputy Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly expresses profound respect for the values of Ramadan and commends the Muslim community for their commitment to faith, self-discipline, and charity during this sacred month.

Stating, “May this Ramadan bring you peace, joy, and spiritual fulfilment. As you embark on this journey of fasting and reflection, may your prayers be answered, and your hearts be filled with gratitude and kindness. Ramadan Kareem to you and your loved ones.”

Duke emphasises the importance of fostering understanding, tolerance, and harmony among the diverse religious communities in Calabar and Cross River.

He encouraged everyone to “use this occasion to strengthen the bonds of unity that make our society rich and vibrant.”
