Senior Pastor, Daughter, Landlord Kidnapped in Calabar

Three persons, including a senior pastor, his daughter and a landlord have been kidnapped in Calabar, Cross River State capital.

CONVERSEER gathered that the senior pastor, Rev. Mike Obiora of Word Alive Church located at Anating Street off Atu in Calabar South and his daughter, Shalom were kidnapped on Thursday (Sept. 21) at about 9 pm.

The duo were kidnapped alongside a new landlord who just moved into his new house located at the end of Victory Way, Satellite Town, Calabar Municipality.

According to sources, the senior pastor and the new landlord share a neighbourhood close to the stream area at the end of Victory Way, Satellite Town.

One of the sources said the kidnappers had a get-away boat which they used in carrying the trio after kidnapping them from their houses.

Another source, a security operative who pleaded anonymity said one of the victim’s shoes was found while security operatives were searching the entrance to the creek after a late distressed call.

Confirming the incident, SP Irene Ugbo, Police spokesperson in the state told VANGUARD that they won’t relent until they free all the kidnapped victims.

Ugbo said: “We are aware of the incident, our men swung into action when they got the distress call, and we won’t relent until they are found.

“They (tactical teams) have combed the entire area thoroughly till this morning (Sept. 23) but we won’t stop until we find them.”
