Former Cross River Assembly Speaker John Gaul joins APC

Former Speaker of the 8th Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo, has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).

CONVERSEER reports that John Gaul Lebo resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in his Adadama ward in Abi on 10th May 2024.

A month and three days later, John Gaul Lebo picked the APC form membership form at the party State Secretariat in Calabar on 13th June 2024.

Welcoming John Gaul Lebo to the APC, Barr. Alphonsus Eba, Chairman of the APC in the state heaped praises on the former Speaker.

Eba in his remark said: “Rt. Hon. John Gaul is a great political asset to the state and a good value addition to the Abi Local Government Chapter of the Party.”

On his part, Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo his reason for joining the party was inspired by the dynamic and creative governance model of the state Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu.

He specifically mentioned the attributions of Otu’s administration to include developing the non-oil export sector, service economy hub for the State in agriculture, industries, tourism and infrastructural development.”

The former Speaker, who was presented with a copy of the APC Constitution as amended, and a broom, which is the party’s symbol, was at the party’s secretariat with his teeming supporters.
