Cross River Assembly Committees and their Chairmen

The Cross River State House of Assembly has constituted 17 Committees and assigned Chairmen to the Committees.

The new committees were constituted on Wednesday by the House headed by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem.

Converseer reports that Ayambem dissolved the committees earlier constituted after being reinstated as Speaker following his removal by 17 out of the 25 members of the House on Wednesday, 22nd May 2024.

Below is the full list of Committees and their Chairmen

1. Hon. Cyril Omini, Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation

2. Hon. Eyo Bassey, Chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs

3. Hon. Victor Nsa, Chairman, House Committee on Transport and Marine Services

4. Hon. Egbe Abeng Egbe, Chairman, House Committee on Works and Infrastructure

5. Hon. Effiong Ekarika, Chairman, House Committee on Petroleum, Gas and Solid Mineral Development

6. Hon. Martins Achadu, Chairman, House Committee on Education

7. Hon. Hilary Bisong, Chairman, House Committee on Health, Nutrition and Food Security

8. Hon. Bassey Bassey, Chairman, House Committee on Youths and Sports Development

9. Hon. Okon Owuna, Chairman, House Committee on Commerce, Industry, PPP and Privatisation
