The campaign for the Democratic presidential ticket of Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz says they have raised more than $20 million since Walz was announced as Harris’ running mate earlier today.
This significant fundraising haul in the immediate aftermath of the VP selection suggests strong enthusiasm among Democratic donors and supporters for the Harris-Walz pairing.
For comparison, the Trump campaign reportedly raised around $15 million within the first 24 hours of announcing JD Vance as the former president’s running mate.
Harris officially introduced Walz as her 2024 running mate during a rally in Philadelphia.
Harris praised his past career as a teacher, coach and lawmaker and praised him as a “patriot” and “leader.”
Reacting to the news, Donald Trump, GOP presidential nominee, shared a cryptic post on his social media platform, Truth Social, shortly that simply stated: “THANK YOU!”
Trump who waited another roughly five hours to directly address the news, said: “This is the most Radical Left duo in American history,” the former president posted on Truth Social.
Adding: “There has never been anything like it, and there never will be again.”
