The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State has suspended Mr Anthony Edako as the State’s Secretary.
Edako was suspended as a member of the party and the State Secretary in a letter dated 11th September 2024 through his ward, Buda Ward.
The letter was signed by James Ofre Enyia, Buda Ward Chairman, and Edom Joseph Enya, Buda Ward Secretary.
Other stakeholders who also signed the letter titled “LETTER OF SUSPENSION FROM PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP)”, include Dr Mark Nke, Hon. Albert Kekong, Hon. James Abua, and Chief Thomas Eshie.
According to the suspension letter, the party said Edako has incessantly engaged in anti-party activities, which is contrary to the party laws.

“We write on behalf of the Buda Ward executives and leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, Buda Ward, to formally inform you of your indefinite suspension from the party and from your role as the State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State, effective from the 11th day of September 2024.
“This decision is reached following your repeated disregard for party decisions in Buda Ward, where you engaged in activities contrary to the best interests of the party in Buda Ward. It has come to our attention that you have been involved in anti-party activities and unilaterally taking decisions for the ward executive members, without consulting or recognising the stakeholders of the ward. Such actions are in clear violation of the party’s protocols and principles of teamwork and consultation, which we strongly uphold.
“As a result of these infractions, the party leadership in Buda Ward finds it necessary to impose an indefinite suspension pending further investigations and recommendations from the appropriate disciplinary bodies. We expect that you comply with this directive and refrain from any further activities in your capacity as our member and State Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) until you are duly notified of the conclusion of the disciplinary process.
“Thank you for your attention to this matter,” the letter read.
