LG Election: How CROSIEC Omitted YPP From 3 LGAs

Calabar, Cross River State – The Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) omitted the Young Progressive Party (YPP) in three Local Government Areas (LGAs) in the last Council election.

Announcing the results last Sunday, Dr Ekong Boco, Chairman of CROSIEC, omitted the results of the party in three LGAs, including Calabar Municipality, Ikom and Etung.

The reason for Boco’s action is yet to be ascertained but some members of the party are not happy with it.

“I was listening to all the results that the CROSIEC Chairman announced, and I realised that three LGAs, including Ikom, Etung and Calabar Municipality, were exempted.

“The act is unconstitutional; even if the party scored zero, the Chairman would have at least mentioned it,” a member of the party who pleaded anonymity said.

Findings by Converseer revealed that, truly, Dr Boco omitted to call out the results of the party in these three LGAs.
