Calabar, Nigeria – The Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) has commenced the payment of stipends to its ad hoc staff.
Converseer learned that the payment is for the ad hoc staff engaged by the Commission for the conduct of the November 2024 local government election in the state.
According to the statement issued in Calabar on Friday and signed by the CROSIEC Secretary, Dr Lawrence Edu Esq., the commission blamed the inability of the ad hoc not to have received payment earlier on technical issues from the bank.
“We are aware, though with regret, of the inability of some Ad Hoc Staff not to have received their stipends due to technical glitches from the Bank.
“In view of the above, the Commission has appealed to all those yet to be paid to exercise patience as the bank progresses with the exercise.
“The Commission regrets any inconvenience this delay may have caused the affected ad hoc staff.
“The Bank is working seriously to ensure that every staff is paid. While hoping to get your stipends, accept our assurances of the highest esteemed,” the statement read.
