Calabar, Nigeria – The Archbishop of Calabar, His Eminence Archbishop Josef Bassey, has urged residents of Cross River State to celebrate the holiday and Christmas season with reverence for God and a commitment to doing good to all.
The call was made over the weekend during the conclusion of a 21-day covenant invocation ceremony aimed at bringing blessings to the land, its people, and all visitors.
The spiritual exercise, described by the Archbishop as a divinely ordained strategic intervention, was held to establish a peaceful and transformative atmosphere for the Christmas and New Year celebrations in the state.
Archbishop Josef Bassey, who is also the founder and general overseer of God’s Heritage Centre, Calabar, emphasised the unique spiritual significance of Cross River State, describing it as holding a special place in Nigeria and the global spiritual landscape.
“Calabar and Cross River State are not ordinary lands. They occupy a significant place in the mystical equation of Nigeria and the world,” the Archbishop said.
He encouraged all believers and well-wishers to continue praying for the prosperity and peace of the state, noting that divine blessings are reserved for those who genuinely love and support Cross River State.
The Archbishop concluded by calling on everyone to approach the festive season with goodwill, unity, and acts of righteousness to ensure a peaceful and fulfilling celebration.
