Calabar, Nigeria – The Special Adviser to Governor Bassey Otu on Youths Mobilisation, His Youthfulness, Dan Obo Jnr., has called on all the youths in Cross River to emulate the life of Jesus Christ this yuletide and beyond.
Obo, who said Christmas is a gift from God to Christians, noted that the life Christ lived while on earth shows that in youthfulness, there is strength, and if one needs to work on his/her life, it is when he/she is still young.
He said the legacy Christ left behind was because he was able to make use of his youthful age very well and positively.
He admonished the youths to support one another and, in turn, support the Government, which is building the state as every society is built by vibrant youths with positive minds.
“When you read the Bible very well, especially in Matthew 1:21 and Matthew 21:12;13, you’ll notice the reason Christ was born. First, to be selfless by saving mankind, and secondly, to protect his father’s house. And he did all of these when he was still young and vibrant.
“As young people, we should protect Cross River State, it is our father’s house, for if we do not, no one will. Most of us are aspiring leaders; if we destroy it using negative vibes, what are we going to govern or lead tomorrow?
“So, I urged all the youths in the state to start from their community to protect the interests of the State, especially the people-orientated projects and initiatives being put in place by His Excellency, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
“Also, as you celebrate the season, avoid social vices, lend a helping hand and reflect on this message.
“Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.”
