Sadiq Umar marked his first goal for Valencia in a 2-0 victory over Ourense at Estadio de Couto on Tuesday.
The Super Eagles striker was handed his first start for Valencia since joining the club in their Copa del Rey round of 16 clash against Ourense.
Sadiq had made two appearances with Valencia since joining on a loan from Real Sociedad this year, both times coming off the bench.
The match began with both teams struggling to convert chances, resulting in a goalless first half. The breakthrough came in the 50th minute, when Ourense defender Francisco Carmona Garcia inadvertently put the ball into his own net, giving Valencia a 1-0 lead.
Sadiq then sealed the win for Los Ches in the 78th minute, shortly after hitting the crossbar. The striker showed great composure, dancing around two Ourense defenders inside the box before curling a precise shot into the net to double Valencia’s advantage.
