Infamous Abuja Land Grabber Ishaku Aliyu Arrives with Police to Intimidate Workers as Officer States, ‘We Can Crush Anyone’

A notorious Abuja land grabber, Mrs. Bilikisu Ishaku Aliyu (aka Rebecca Omokamo) being shielded from prosecution by the police, has again invaded another property at Plot 4411, Cadastral Zone A09, Guzape District, with retinue of policemen to take over the property.

SaharaReporters had reported that Mrs Aliyu, also known as Rebecca Omokamo, Chief Executive Officer of Homadil Realty Limited, had been indicted for fraudulently tampering with the Land Information System (LIS) and forging title documents in the Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS).

SaharaReporters gathered on Thursday that Mrs Aliyu, going by her latest name Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam, invaded Plot 4411, Cadastral Zone A09, Guzape District, Abuja on Tuesday, January 14, with several policemen from 44 Police Mobile Force Headquarters, led by one SP Haruna Danfulani, to stop the ongoing construction work at the property and take possession of it.

This is despite an interim order of the Federal Capital Territory High Court, Abuja in suit marked M/16807/2024 retraining Mr. Eric Anyamene Nnadi, Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam, Hon. Minister, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja and Federal Capital Development Authority (F.C.D.A) as 1st to 4th Defendants from entering the property, pending the final determination of the suit before the court which was instituted by Nextdora Nigeria Limited.

However, workers at the construction site resisted an attempt by SP Haruna Danfulani from enforcing an alleged directive from the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun, to stop and drive workers out of the property, claiming that the property belongs to Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam (Mrs Aliyu).

“The situation escalated when Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam, claiming ties to the IGP, arrived on the site with a police escort,” an eyewitness told SaharaReporters on Thursday.

“She was with disputed documents, which site workers contested as forged when she wanted to take control of the site with the aid of policemen.”

A video clip of the incident shared with SaharaReporters on Thursday, shows one SP Haruna Danfulani giving directives to officers.

Workers on the site were also seen resisting Danfulani’s orders for arrests, arguing that the police have no role in land disputes and should not act outside the court’s directive.

In the video clip, SP Danfulani is overheard saying: “I’m talking to you and you are going, do not get me annoyed here. When we go any place, we give everyone their respect and the benefit of the doubt and when you refuse, we will use maximum force and if we want to take action, we can crush anybody. But it has not got to that stage.”

Another voice is heard saying, “They collected my car key and are taking my car. OC Transport took the car key.”

Also, Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam is seen making calls and directing the policemen before they later got into their patrol vehicles left the site.

The Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had earlier denied that the Inspector-General of Police was protecting Aliyu (Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam). However, the authorities have faced backlash for failing to hold accountable officers who have erred.

Speaking with SaharaReporters in an interview over the recent development, Oguche Mubarak Esq, one of the lawyers for the plaintiff, said after the attempt during the day, Aliyu (Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam) drove to the site at night with some hooded men and was captured on camera.

Oguche explained that this act of impunity and disregard for court orders, had been going on despite the ongoing court proceedings.

He said, “Police presence on the site continues, raising concerns about their disregard for the rule of law.

“This matter highlights ongoing issues with police interference in civil disputes and there must be an accountability and adherence to judicial processes.”

Giving further details, Oguche said: “Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam has a partner, one Mr Eric Anyamene Nnadi. The said Nnadi and the woman are the ones disturbing workers on that land and the owner of the property came and briefed us and we went to court and filed a case before an FCT High Court for declaration of title over that land in Guzape.

“We joined the woman and Nnadi as Defendants as well the Minister of FCT. So we made them Defendants and then obtained an interim order against them, restraining them from tampering, trespassing or howsoever interfering with the possessory rights of the Applicant.

“In fact, the woman when she was called by the court bailiff who wanted to serve her the order of the court, she kept informing them that she was out of town. And till today as we speak, she is still telling the court that she hasn’t returned, yet in the night she would go with some policemen and disturb workers on the property.

“Furthermore, we even proceeded to file another action for the enforcement of fundamental rights of our client. That one is before the Federal High Court. We joined the police, we joined the IGP and the FCT Command of the Police. So we have two matters as we speak pending before the courts – one at the FCT High Court and another at the Federal High Court. Our client has all the documents concerning the property.

“In fact, we even added those documents to the processes we filed in court. It was on the strength of the processes we front-loaded that the FCT High Court gave an interim order restraining Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam and her partner, one Mr Eric Anyamene Nnadi.

“In one breath, she said she is an Hajiya and in another breath she will mention a different name. And this is what she does – she is a land grabber. She is dropping the name of the IGP and using the name to bring policemen to dispossess people of their land.

“We have served the police all the court processes. We served the court order on the Assistant Inspector General of Police in Abuja here and the office of the IGP. They acknowledged the service and reached out to us that they have received the order and that they are going to advise the woman accordingly only for us to see that three days later, the woman went back to the land with policemen and started harassing the people there, breaking walls and destroying properties there.

“Meanwhile, she hasn’t appeared before the court or sent her representative. It is only her partner – Mr Nnadi – who got a lawyer and appeared in court but the lawyer hasn’t filed anything up to this moment. He hasn’t filed anything on behalf of Nnadi who is the lady’s partner.

“It is even Nnadi that is claiming ownership of the property and using that woman. So it is the woman that supplies the police and unfortunately for her she is not even in the background; she goes to the land with policemen.

“She is not a policewoman and has not filed anything in court. She is not the one claiming ownership of the land yet she goes to the land with policemen to go and harass those people. We only joined her in the two cases because she goes to the land with policemen. But the person claiming the land is Nnadi.”

Efforts by SaharaReporters to reach Hajiya Bilkisu Mallam for a response to the allegations were unsuccessful, as she did not answer her calls.

At the time of filing this report, she had not responded to a text message sent to her verified mobile phone.

Similarly, Force Public Relations Officer ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi did not take his calls or reply to a text message requesting his comment on the matter.
