It is disappointing to witness the descent into baseless propaganda and poorly orchestrated attacks against Hon. Oden Ewa, a man whose dedication to public service and unity has been unwavering. The recent piece by Omini Oden, riddled with unfounded allegations, is a desperate attempt to tarnish the image of a leader who has consistently prioritized the welfare of the people over petty politics. This calculated attack underscores the lengths to which detractors will go to distract from the real issues of development and progress in Cross River State.
Hon. Oden Ewa’s track record of inclusivity and effective leadership speaks volumes. As the Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations, he has been instrumental in fostering intergovernmental collaborations, attracting investments, and ensuring equitable distribution of development projects. The accusation of clannishness and arrogance is not only baseless but also a clear distortion of facts. Hon. Ewa’s leadership has transcended clan and political boundaries, reinforcing harmony and development across Yakurr and the entire state.
The mention of Senator Eteng Jonah Williams in Omini Oden’s piece is a glaring indication that this attack was orchestrated by the senator or his camp. While Hon. Oden Ewa remains a humble and focused leader, it is unfortunate that such cheap propaganda is being used to distract from his impactful work. However, Hon. Ewa, a gentleman of great character and integrity, has chosen not to engage with such pettiness. Doing so would only diminish his towering personality and the battalion of supporters who continue to drum up support for this intellectually sagacious young man.
While the claimed achievements of Senator Williams are commendable, it is misleading to suggest that Hon. Oden Ewa has in any way impeded them. On the contrary, Hon. Ewa has been a cooperative partner in development, supporting initiatives that benefit the people of Cross River Central Senatorial District. The Agoi experience and the scholarship to 150 beneficiaries will be a testament to this. His focus has always been on collaboration and service delivery, rather than divisive and baseless propaganda. The insinuation that he orchestrates smear campaigns is not only false but a weak distraction from substantive issues.
Hon. Oden Ewa has remained dedicated to his mandate, implementing strategic initiatives that directly benefit the people. From facilitating community empowerment programs to promoting peacebuilding and ensuring disaster response mechanisms, his contributions have significantly impacted lives across the state. These efforts, coupled with his humility and vision, have endeared him to people from all walks of life, making him a symbol of hope and progress in Cross River politics.
The era of blackmail and political thuggery is long gone. It is ironic that Omini Oden, while accusing Hon. Ewa of blackmail, has resorted to publishing veiled threats and unfounded claims. This hypocrisy only underscores the desperation of those whose political relevance is fading. While Hon. Ewa is committed to maintaining decorum, continued attacks on his person will not go unanswered. Should this smear campaign persist, the public will be presented with irrefutable evidence that dismantles the fabrications being peddled by detractors.
Hon. Oden Ewa remains undeterred, focused on his mission to serve the people of Cross River State with dedication, humility, and excellence. He understands that engaging in unnecessary mudslinging would be a disservice to his office and his supporters. His refusal to be drawn into this fray only reinforces his maturity, focus, and statesmanship, qualities that continue to earn him admiration and respect from across the state.
To the people of Cross River Central, we urge you to reject divisive rhetoric and support leaders who prioritize your interests above political expediency. Hon. Oden Ewa’s achievements and unifying leadership are a testament to his commitment to progress and the collective good of our communities. No amount of propaganda can diminish his stellar reputation or derail his vision for a better Cross River State. We have just done one outing and the atmosphere is charged. We are coming.
