Nigerian entertainer Speed Darlington has alleged that an adversary reached out to his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, to appeal for leniency amid ongoing tensions surrounding his legal troubles.
Taking to social media, the singer claimed that despite using the police to detain him in defiance of a court order, his adversary has now sought to avoid further public criticism.
“My enemy reached out to my lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, to beg him to stop dragging him on social media regarding the case, even though he used the police to keep me in detention despite a court order,” Speed Darlington stated.
The artist also highlighted the challenges within the Nigerian justice system, which he referred to as “Zoogeria,” accusing it of being riddled with inefficiencies and corruption.
He further revealed insights from his time in detention, claiming that without money, survival in prison is nearly impossible. “Whoever doesn’t have money in prison is dead. I’m a big boy; I had feeding money in prison,” he added. Speed Darlington expressed gratitude for his lawyer, noting Adeyanju’s understanding of the country’s “rotten” criminal justice system.
The allegations come amid a series of publicized face-off with singer Burna Boy.
