ALLEGED DIVERSION: Mercy Chinwo Refutes Claims of Legal Action Against Ex-Manager

Popular gospel singer Mercy Chinwo has denied initiating legal action against her former manager Ezekiel Onyedikachi, the CEO of Eezee Conceptz over alleged diversion.

The singer who issued a statement through her lawyer said that she never complained about the unfairness of the 50/50 revenue split from her DSP earnings, and she never filed a lawsuit against her former management over her music repertoire.

According to the statement, trouble started between the pair when Ezekiel began pressuring Mercy Chinwo to increase her five-year contract to twelve years.

Following her refusal to extend her contract, Ezekiel allegedly turned confrontational, mentioning the contract and using derogatory language against the gospel singer.

The statement also revealed that Ezekiel also falsified a new contract in 2019 by changing the date to make it appear to be one signed from the year 2017.

This comes days after the arrest warrant against Ezekiel over alleged diversion was revoked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday.

Following an ex parte order filed by the EFCC, Justice Alexander Owoeye issued a bench warrant against the music producer last week.

However, the anti-graft agency requested that the warrant against Ezekiel Onyedikachi be withdrawn at the request of its attorney, Barrister Bilikisu Buhari.

Buhari clarified that the warrant was no longer required because Ezekiel’s attorney, Monday Ubani, SAN, had previously been served with the charges in public court prompting the presiding judge to approve the bench warrant’s withdrawal.
