A group of activists and civil society organizations on Wednesday besieged the Federal High Court Abuja to protest against the arrest and cybercrime charges filed against the former presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, by the Nigerian police.

The President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Afam Usigwe and Senator Shehu Sani and others were in court in solidarity with the activist.
Addressing the protesters, Mrs. Ene Obi condemned the action of police, describing it as unwarranted and unnecessary.
She also called for the withdrawal of charges preferred against Adaramola and 10 other activists who were arrested during last year’s #EndBadGovernance protest.
Meanwhile, Sowore was brought to the courtroom dressed in traditional attire and he was in high spirits.
