NGX: Equities Market Continues Bullish Trend, Delivering N347bn Profit for Investors

The Nigerian equities market sustained its bullish trading with a N347 billion gain by investors at the close of business on Thursday.

This followed a surge in the share prices of stocks like HONEY FLOUR, NNFM, and RED STAR EXPRESS amongst others on the trading floor.

After five hours of trading at the capital market, the equity capitalization rose to ₦64.8 trillion from ₦64.5 trillion posted by the bourse on Wednesday.

The benchmark All-Share Index (ASI) also increased to 104,744.43 points from 104,597.64 points which were recorded the previous day.

The market breadth was positive as 36 stocks advanced and 25 stocks declined, while 61 stocks remained unchanged in 13,716 deals.

HONEY FLOUR, NNFM, and RED STAR EXPRESS led other gainers with 10%, 9.98% and 9.89% growth each in prices to close at N9.35, N55.10 and N5.00 from the previous N8.50, N50.10 and N4.55 per share.

GUINEA INSURANCE, RT BRISCOE, and VERITASKAP led other price decliners with 10%, 9.70%, and 9.30% dip in share prices to close at N0.72, N2.70 and N1.17 from the previous N0.80, N2.99 and N1.29 per share.

On the volume index, FBNH led trading with 83 million shares in 287 deals followed by VERITASKAP which traded 39 million shares in 265 deals.

UNIVERSAL INSURANCE traded 26 million shares in 165 deals.

On the value index, FBNH traded stocks worth N2.4 billion in 287 deals followed by ARADEL which traded equities worth N1.2 billion in 517 deals.

GTCO traded shares valued at N1 billion in 313 deals.
