Police have arrested a 20-year-old man, Lukman Aliyu, for r3ping a six-year-old girl in the Ibeto community, Niger State.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Wasiu Abiodun, who disclosed this in a statement on Friday, February 7, 2025, said the minor was heading home from school when the suspect lured her into a bush and s3xually assaulted her.
On 30/1/2025 at about 5.30pm, it was reported at Ibeto Police outstation under Nasko Div, that on 29/1/2025 at about 2pm, a girl of about 6yrs got home from school with suspected blood stains on her body, and when she was questioned, she alleged that one Lukman Aliyu 20yrs of Ibeto defiled her at a nearby bush while on her way home from school,” the statement read.
“The suspect was immediately arrested and he confessed to the crime. The victim was taken to General Hospital Nasko for medical attention and the suspect has been transferred to SCID Minna for further investigation and prosecution.”
