President John Mahama is spearheading efforts to address challenges in the country’s education sector by enhancing the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme.
During his ‘Thank You Tour’ of the Central Region on Thursday, the Ghanaian leader pledged his commitment to prioritising education and tackling issues affecting the sector.
He outlined plans to strengthen the Free SHS programme by securing dedicated funding and decentralising food procurement to improve efficiency.
The Head of Government also announced the introduction of a “no academic fees” policy to ease financial burdens on students, alongside infrastructural expansion for tertiary institutions to accommodate growing student populations.
