Truck crushes trader to d3ath in Ondo

A middle aged man has been crushed to d3ath by a truck at opa junction/Olokuta village in Akure, Ondo State.

 

The man popularly known as “Daddy Ese” was a furniture trader at plank market, Ajegboro on Agagu road, in Akure.

The accident occurred along Ondo Road at the weekend. 

 

According to eyewitnesses, the speeding trailer rammed into the commercial motorcycle carrying the victim, k1lling him instantly while the Okada rider miraculously escaped without injury.

 

It was gathered that the truck driver attempted to flee the scene. However, swift intervention by other road users and military personnel resulted in his arrest following a dramatic chase.

 

Speaking with newsmen, the Chairman Okada Rider Association, Adebowale junction branch, Akure, Mr Monday Desmond appealed to the government to expand the road as it had claimed  lives of many road users.

 

Also speaking, the federal road safety corps Sector Commander in Ondo State, Dr Samuel Ibitoye charged road users to drive carefully, especially on narrow roads as anyone caught violating road regulations would be made to face the full weight of the law.
