Gunmen Abduct Family of Three in Plateau

A man, his wife and his daughter were abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits who invaded the Dogon Ruwa Community in Wase local government area of Plateau state on Monday, February  10.

 

Leadership reports that the incident happened at about 11am when residents of the area were going about their normal activities. A youth leader in the area, Shapi’i Sambo, who confirmed the incident said the gunmen arrived in the community and started shooting sporadically to scare members of the community away before abducting their victims.

 

Sambo also said security personnel and vigilante members have moved into the bush to rescue the victims.

“When the gunmen arrived the community, people were going about their normal activities. The gunmen started shooting sporadically to disperse residents. Many people fled to safety. Unfortunately, a man, wife and child were abducted. The armed men came with sophisticated weapons” he said

 

He added that two injured persons have been taken to hospital in Dogo Ruwa for treatment.

 

Meanwhile, spokesman of the Plateau State Police Command, DSP Alabo Alfred is yet to comment on the incident.
