Bayer Leverkusen's Coach Xavi Alonso Affirms Victor Boniface's Failed Transfer to Saudi Arabia Won't Impact Him

Bayer Leverkusen’s head coach, Xabi Alonso has confirmed that Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface is not affected by his failed move to join Saudi Premier League giants Al Nassr in January The Nigerian International was set for a lucrative 15m per season move to the Saudi club before the deal broke down as the Saudi club opted instead to sign Aston Villa forward Jhon Durn instead in a 77m deal, including add-ons, ending their pursuit of the Nigerian striker. Boniface, who recently recovered from a thigh injury has since returned to the side, featuring in their last three games and scoring two goals. Speaking on Boniface’s failed move to Saudi, head coach, Xabi Alonso noted that Boniface was open to leaving the club in January but is happy to stay back at the club. These things happen, Alonso told the Bundesliga website. We spoke before this transfer window began. He was open to the idea of a transfer, but hes happy here. Thats why I dont think it will be a big stress for him. Hell switch back in his head and accept the idea that hes staying here. Hell see his situation positively and fight for his position in the team. The post Victor Boniface’s failed move to Saudi Arabia won’t affect him – Bayer Leverkusen’shead coach, Xavi Alonso insists appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
