Talented Nigerian musician Temilade Openiyi, popularly known in music circles as Tems, has emerged as a co-owner of Major League Soccer club, San Diego FC.
The singer’s acquisition, which was made through her company, The Leading Vibes, was disclosed in a statement shared by the clubside, which informed that her investment was made in collaboration with Pave Investments, with Tunde Folawiyo and Kwamena Afful also joining the ownership group of the MLS side.
In a statement, the Grammy Award-winning singer said, “Football has a special ability to unite people, and I can’t wait to contribute to the creation of something truly unique in San Diego.

Tems, the first African woman to own a team in Major League Soccer, will serve as a club partner in support of the organization’s mission of excellence and community engagement.
