Mali’s transitional authorities have inaugurated a new military camp in Koutiala, located in the country’s central region.
The facility is part of ongoing efforts to reinforce national security amid persistent threats from armed groups and instability.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Mali’s Minister of Defense and Veterans, Army Corps General, alongside the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General, and other senior military, civil, religious, and customary leaders.
Officials say the establishment of the military camp is a crucial step in strengthening defense operations in the region, ensuring a more strategic deployment of troops to counter growing security challenges.
Regional security experts highlighted that, as Mali continues to navigate its transition, military expansion remains a key priority for the authorities.
