Boy, 11, ‘stabbed by another pupil’ at primary school

A primary school pupil has been stabbed by another pupil at their school in Dublin, Ireland.

The victim, who is believed to be 11, was taken to hospital with injuries that are non-life threatening this morning, March 4. 

Police in north Dublin said both children attend the school. It is understood that an implement was used during the incident, which was not specified. 

Police say they are in contact with the parents of both children. 

The school, which was closed off for an investigation to begin, has not yet been identified. 

Gardai said in a statement: “An Garda Siochana is currently liaising with school management and staff with a view to identifying the precise circumstances around the incident. 

“An Garda Siochana will continue to engage with all relevant State agencies regarding this incident. 

“There is no concern for public safety.”
