A Muslim man is receiving heat after saying he needs to get married because he can’t be left unsupervised during Ramadan fasting.
He wrote on X: “walahi I need to get married, I can’t be left unsupervised especially in moments like this, except for water I have no single idea of what is for iftar or sahur.”
He got dragged for his post but he was undeterred and added much later: “I still have no idea of what’s for sahur. so I need to actually get married fr.”
X users told him he wants a maid, not a wife and asked why he expects someone to take care of him if he can’t take care of himself.
Others pointed out that if it had been a woman saying she wants a husband to meet her needs, she would be called a gold digger.
One X user wrote: “Men don’t see things like this as transactional because they don’t involve money directly. But if a woman said she needed a man to sponsor her basic needs, she’d be met with ire. At least no one kills men for not paying bills; women are actually k!lled for not cooking well.”
