Burkina Faso Inaugurates 4.5 Billion FCFA Detergent Industrial Complex

Burkina Faso’s transitional president, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, on Thursday inaugurated a 4.5 billion FCFA ($7.5 million) Detergent Industrial Complex (CIDF) in the country’s Central region.

The facility specializes in producing powder detergents, liquid soap, and solid soap, with a daily production capacity of 300 tonnes.

The locally branded “Fassi” products—meaning “clean and unblemished” in the Mororé language—are set to be distributed in both national and international markets.

Built on a one-hectare site, the complex is expected to generate 122 permanent jobs, over 300 direct jobs, and nearly 1,600 seasonal jobs, supporting efforts to combat unemployment.

President Traoré commended the initiative, emphasizing its role in strengthening the national industrial sector and reducing reliance on imports.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to industrialization and private sector support as key drivers of economic growth and national sovereignty.
