Fiancee of Faster Pussycat singer Taime Downe dead after falling from cruise ship

The fiancee of Faster Pussycat’s lead singer Taime Downe is being presumed dead after reportedly falling overboard from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship in the Bahamas.

The death of Kimberly Burch, who was engaged to the glam metal band‘s co-founder for more than five years, was confirmed in a family statement Tuesday morning.

“It is with broken hearts that we share the sad news that Kimberly Burch has passed away,” her family wrote on Facebook. “She was a beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. We ask for prayers during this time for our family as we try to wrap our minds around this heartbreaking tragedy.”

The 56-year-old real state agent reportedly fell from the vessel after a heated argument with Downe, who was performing on the ’80s-themed cruise featuring acts such as Tiffany, Christopher Cross, Sheila E., Quiet Riot and Kurtis Blow, among others.

The trip began on Sunday in Miami and is scheduled to return March 9.

The U.S. Coast Guard said the tragic incident occurred roughly 20 miles from Freeport, Bahamas. A helicopter crew was dispatched to search for Burch’s body but have not yet recovered her, reported TMZ.

A spokesperson for Royal Caribbean Group confirmed the incident in the following statement: “Our crew immediately launched a search and rescue effort, is working with local authorities, and we are providing support and assistance to the guest’s family during this difficult time. To respect the privacy of our guest’s family, we have no additional details to share.”

Burch’s mother, Carnell Burch, told the outlet Downe called her to deliver the terrible news on Monday.

While it remains unclear whether Burch jumped or accidentally fell from the ship, her mother doesn’t think her death was intentional.

“Kimberly wasn’t dealing with any depression or emotional issues, and was actually excited about the trip out of Miami,” she said, but noted that her daughter had been drinking on the cruise, which was unusual.

The Royal Bahamas Defense Force later suspended its search operations, the outlet also reported.
