SEQUATCHIE COUNTY, Tenn. (TCN) — A 41-year-old man is facing several charges for allegedly killing an 18-year-old after he found the victim in bed with his wife.

According to WDEF-TV, on March 8, Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Erlanger-Sequatchie emergency room and spoke with a 31-year-old woman suffering from non-life-threatening stabbing injuries. Deputies went to the woman’s home to continue the investigation.

WTVC-TV reports deputies discovered Johnathan Belk “standing in his doorway covered in blood” and Billy Jean Floyd deceased inside a trash can. The incident allegedly began when Belk came home from a trip and found his wife in bed with Floyd, who, according to his obituary, turned 18 just three days before stabbing. Belk allegedly confronted them, which led to Floyd’s death and his wife’s injuries.

Investigators reportedly asked Belk if he had any major concerns, and he responded, “I am worried about my relationship with my wife due to the fact that I offed him.”

Belk was arrested for criminal homicide and other charges.
