UNICAL matriculates 8,956 students

The University of Calabar, UNICAL on Friday, 26 January 2024, held a matriculation for 8,956 Students recently admitted into 20 faculties and 116 departments.

The matriculation, CONVERSEER learned is the 46th of the institution since it was founded on 25 October 1975.

UNICAL matriculates 8,956 students
Prof. Florence Obi, Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, addressing newly admitted students during the 46th matriculation at the Abraham Ordia Stadium on Friday, 26 January 2024.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Florence Obi, while addressing the matriculating students, charged them with academic excellence, advising them to shun all social vices.

Obi also announced the university’s scholarship, beginning this 2024 for the best students in each academic programme.

She encouraged the students to toe the path of honour throughout their stay at the university.

UNICAL matriculates 8,956 students

CONVERSEER reports that 20,250 applicants applied for admission into the university, but only 8,965 were admitted.
