A 32-year-old labourer, Kevin Roberts, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment for assaulting his wife in Guyana.
Roberts of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast, was charged with the offence of Assault, committed on his wife Annalisa Francis, which occurred on Sunday, 9th March 2025, at Queenstown, Essequibo Coast.
Guyana Police Force in a statement on Sunday, March 16, said the charge was laid under Section (21) of the Summary Jurisdiction Offences Act, Chapter 8:02.
On Thursday 13th March 2025, the case was heard at the Suddie Magistrate’s Court, before Magistrate Miss Tamieka Clarke, where the charge was read to the Defendant.
He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to one (1) month imprisonment.
