Ogun State Govt rescues 4-year-old boy brut@lly ass@ulted by his father

The Ogun State Government has rescued a 4-year-old boy who was allegedly brut@lly ass@ulted by his father in Ota Local Govt Area of the state. 

State Commissioner for Women Affairs & Social Development, Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye, who disclosed this in a statement on Monday, March 17, 2025 said the rescue is part of the government’s unwavering commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals. 

“Acting on reports from concerned individuals, our officials rescued a four-year-old boy (name withheld) in Igboko, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, who had been brutally assaulted by his father,” the statement read.

 

“The child has since been placed under the protective custody of the Ministry, where he is receiving comprehensive medical care and emotional support.

 

“Meanwhile, the alleged perpetrator is currently in police custody with all necessary legal arrangements underway to ensure justice is served.

 

“At present, the child is stable and responding well to medical treatment, with further tests and evaluations being conducted to ensure his full recovery.

 

“We urge members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any cases of child abuse, domestic violence, and other forms of human maltreatment.

 

“We reaffirm that the Prince Dapo Abiodun led- administration will continue to maintain zero tolerance for gender based violence, child abuse and other form of domestic abuse. 

 

“In this regards, members of the public are urged to make use of the Ministry toll-free emergency lines—08000000666 and 08000000555—to report cases anonymously and receive immediate intervention.
