in News

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has accused Senate President,Godswill Akpabio of abusing women even while he was the governor of Akwa Ibom.

Atiku said this in the wake of the sexu@l harassment allegation leveled against Akpabio by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

In a recent interview with journalist Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie on the program Untold Stories, Atiku was asked if there were reports of corruption against Godswill Akpabio when he was governor.

Responding, he said

‘’Yes. Not only was he corrupt, but he also had a history of abusing women.”

With regards to the 2027 elections, Atiku was asked if he will be running again for President and who would be heading any coalition to unseat the government of the day,

Responding, the former Vice President said

‘’In 2014, we had a similar merger, with several candidates contesting. We all ran for president and one emerged, and we all supported him. Nigeria has never been in greater need of credible leadership than now.

When asked if he was surprised by how speedily the National Assembly approved the state of emergency, Atiku said;

‘’No. The leadership is corrupt, and I have no apologies for saying that. They could do anything. The Senate President is known for such behavior, even as a governor”
