Sen. Nwaebonyi Calls for Firm Action Against Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for Repeated Sexual Harassment Accusations

The lawmaker representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, Sen. Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, has taken his war with suspended Kogi senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, to another dimension after he launched another scathing attack on her by threatening that it was high time the National Assembly came hard on her.

Nwaebonyi who has been one of the staunchest supporters of Senate President Godswill Akpabio following Akpoti-Uduaghan’s sexual harassment allegations, while justifying his attacks on the embattled Kogi lawmaker in a News Central TV interview on Wednesday night, further questioned her past allegations and personal life, insinuating that she was a loose woman who should not be taken seriously.

He also questioned how many husbands Akpoti-Uduaghan has had, a clear indication of using her marital history to guilt-trip her.

The Ebonyi senator who dismissed Akpoti-Uduaghan’s claims of sexual harassment against Akpabio, claimed she has an history of making such allegations, referencing an accusation she once made against Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

Nwaebonyi insisted that his criticism of Akpoti-Uduaghan was not solely about defending the Senate President but also about safeguarding those he referred to as “future victims” of such alleged conduct.

“She accused Reno Omokri of sexual harassment during the time of Goodluck Jonathan’s presidency, even though the young man was already in the U.S. attending to national matters. Unfortunately for her, she did not know that he was outside the country,” he said.

“At the slightest provocation, she comes out with allegations of sexual harassment. I don’t know what is wrong with this lady. Does she think she is the most beautiful woman on earth? Or is it because she has a chocolate complexion?

“In my assessment, she is not among the most beautiful women in Nigeria. And it is high time we come hard on her.

“People like us are speaking out, not just to protect and defend the Senate President, but to protect and defend her future victims. Even her current husband—she forced him into marriage by threatening to sue him,’ Nwaebonyi stated.
