Chadian President Calls for Anti-Corruption Fight

Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno has urged national unity and a crackdown on corruption, emphasizing the need for a new Chad free from ideological divisions.

In his Eid al-Fitr message on Monday, he addressed the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, stressing the importance of integrity, justice, and republican values.

The president warned against corruption, calling for zero tolerance on the misappropriation of public resources.

He also urged religious leaders and the Muslim community to promote national unity, avoid doctrinal disputes, and strengthen social cohesion.

Highlighting ethical and religious values, Déby condemned individuals exploiting Chad’s wealth without moral consideration and called for personal accountability.

“We must fight for a better future based on integrity and respect for republican values,” he stated, urging collective commitment to building a stronger and more just Chad.
