Gov. Umo Eno

Gov. Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom on Monday in Uyo declared Sept. 23 a work-free day to mark the the 38th Anniversary of the creation of the state.
This was made known in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Mr Aniekan Umanah.
According to the statement, all government offices and other public institutions are to observe the holiday.
“The Governor extends warm wishes to all citizens and residents for a joyful and peaceful celebrations,” Umanah stated.
