ABUJA (CONVERSEER) – The Nigerian Senate, on Wednesday, confirmed Usoro Akpabio as the pioneer Managing Director of the newly created South South Development Commission (SSDC).
Akpabio, an accomplished energy executive with over 18 years of experience, was screened by the Senate Committee on SSDC, chaired by Senator Benson Konbowei.
Her confirmation is seen as a significant step toward coordinated development in the South-South region.
A former executive at Century Energy and Taleveras, she is widely respected for her leadership in energy policy, stakeholder engagement, and humanitarian work.
Her appointment has been welcomed by stakeholders across Akwa Ibom and the Niger Delta.
