UDINE (CONVERSEER) – Paris Saint-Germain made an incredible comeback on Wednesday to beat Tottenham Hotspur to lift their first-ever UEFA Super Cup at the Bluenergy Stadium – Stadio Friuli, Udine, Italy.
Both sides were aiming for their first Super Cup and it was Tottenham, the UEFA Europa League winners that went in front, thanks to Micky van de Ven, who prodded home from a rebound in the 39th minute, after PSG’s goalkeeper, Lucas Chevalier, had made an incredible save from Christian Romero following a set piece by Pedro Porro.
Spurs dominated the chances as the first half ended 1-nil in favour of the English Premier League side.
Tottenham then added to their lead at the start of the second half. Romero headed home from Porro’s free kick as the Purevians were undone by another set piece.

The game was going the Spurs’ way, though PSG started controlling the game after a few changes by Luis Henrique, until the 85th minute.
PSG, the UEFA Champions League winners pulled one back, thanks to a thunderbolt strike from Kang-In Lee outside the box, beating Guglielmo Vicario.
Tottenham thought they could hang on until 90+5 minutes when Gonzalo Ramos tabbed in Ousmane Dembele’s cross to make it 2-2.
Nothing could separate the two sides as the game went into a penalty shootout. There was no extra time.
van de Ven and Mathys Tel missed for Tottenham while Ramos, Dembele, Lee and Nuno Mendes scored their penalties to win it for PSG.
The win means PSG became the first French Lique 1 side to lift the UEFA Super Cup.
Tottenham’s new manager, Thomas Frank has a lot to do in the transfer market before the start of the 2025/2026 season.
