CRSG directs mandatory wearing of armed forces remembrance emblem

By Our Reporter

CALABAR (CONVERSEER) – The Cross River State Government has reiterated its commitment to honouring Nigeria’s fallen heroes and recognising the dedication of serving military personnel, following the official launch of the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day emblem in Calabar.

At the ceremony, where Governor Bassey Otu was represented by his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, a directive was issued mandating all civil servants and political appointees in the state to wear the Remembrance emblem throughout the remembrance period.

The Governor explained that this directive serves as a mark of honour and respect for members of the Armed Forces – those who paid the supreme sacrifice in defence of the nation, and the brave men and women who continue to serve with courage and loyalty.

He reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering support for initiatives that celebrate the sacrifices of military personnel while promoting a stronger sense of patriotism and collective responsibility among citizens.
